An easy stop along the limited express Super Hokuto, Tōyako station, and a bus ride later, you can find yourself in the middle of a seemingly post-apocalyptic world. Buildings and roads, destroyed and abandoned, but strangely with eateries and shops around. Yes, another distaster made into a tourist spot. And why not? Lake Tōya is a beautiful area, and for staying guests provides lots of hot springs, and other oppertunities for everyone.
