Komine Castle

Originally built in 1340, then destroyed and rebuilt in 1632 after a conflict, and then destoyed and completely demolished in 1868 during the Battle of Aizu. Finally rebuilt again in 1991, and is now under government protection. However, the castle and the site suffered significant damage from the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Some light repair works at the site are still ongoing.
