Nebuta has Begun

Aomori during the first week of August, is all about the Nebuta festival. The festival that celebrates summer. This is not a festival as you might know it. It's not a music festival, nor is it a matsuri (shrine festival). Nebuta consists of a parade of wagons (also called floats) that are pushed through the city, accompanied by dance, music, and drums.
