The Degu is a smallish rodent, sometimes referred to as the Brush-tailed Rat. They can be kept as pets (in an appropriate enclosure) but be sure to own several of them, as they are social creatures. Their appearance resembles that of a chinchilla or perhaps a ginea pig, right? The three are closely related, after all.
