Uji is a small village some 15km south of the giant metropol that is Kyoto. Takes very little time to get there, and once there, you're greeted with a comfortable atmosphere reminiscent of a sizable village or small town. Uji is known for its important temple, the Byōdōin, and an interesting set of twin shrines, the Uji & Ujigami Shrine.
