Even though this picture was taken at a shrine, the Misode Tenmangū Shrine, this gate is a temple gate. Shrines don't have gates; temples have gates. Well, sometimes they do. At the top, where I'm standing, the paths splits in two - one to the shrine, and one goes for the Taisanji Temple.
