The yukata is not like the cheap ones you get at business hotels and cheaper ryokans. This one is meant to wear in public, to go out and about in. This yukata consists of an under-yukata, one might say, and an over-yukata. That way, it'll look like you're properly wearing clothes - not just a Japanese bath robe. When going outside, you can (if you wish) wear a third layer, which is a kind of jacket in the same style. That, and geta - wooden slippers that take some getting used to walking in. And remember: this is not a kimono. That's for another gender and another occasion.
