I decided on splurging for a bit. I lodged at an incredibly luxurious authentic hotel (ryokan), got into a yukata getup, and soaked in a couple of baths. Kinosaki is famous for it being the norm to go outside all dressed up as if you're set back 500 years. And so I did. It's both an expensive and an expansive experience.
