I had some time left on my visit to Nagoya, and one thing to do to fill up that time, is to visit the Atsuta Shrine. This is an old one: originally founded between the year 71 and 130 AD, which is during emperor Keikō's reign. Atsuta is important to Shinto belief, because it safeguards the Kusanagi no Tsurugi, an ancient sword that is considered one of the Three Sacred Treasures of Japan. However, this sword is never displayed to the public.
